In Chinese metaphysics, a birth moment resolves into eight characters — the Four Pillars. Each carries one of the five elements. What you want to know is which one you are short of.

What you'll get

How this is calculated — the Year pillar switches at 立春 (the start of spring), not at New Year or Chinese New Year. The Month pillar switches at each of the twelve 节. Both are taken from a solar-term table covering 1900–2030. The Day pillar is derived from the Julian day count.
